NAACP unveiled the full list of “55th NAACP Image Awards” nominees with Netflix and Amazon leading the pack with 55 and 27 nominations respectively. The winners will be revealed during the two–hour LIVE TV special, airing Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 8:00 PM ET/ PT on BET and CBS.

Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has disclosed its roster of nominees for the year 2023. Established in 2005 as a subsidiary of the Africa Film Academy, AMAA has since ascended to become the most esteemed and sought-after recognition platform for filmmakers throughout the African continent.

The fifth annual Morehouse College Human Rights Film Festival announces winners. ifine (beauty ) wins Best Documentary. Other films in the category include Butterfly, Butterfly,  In Her Absence, and Inclusion: The Story of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Freetong Film Festival is Sierra Leone's first ever film festival. The directors hope to put a spotlight on the country and connect with other filmmakers across the diaspora as they continue to build community around visibility, innovation, and the art of storytelling.

World Premiere 

ifine will make its world premiere at the 2023 Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Kicking off the festival with honoree Angela Bassett, this year's festival will take place February 8-18.

ifine at Pan African Film Festival 

The Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF) is America's largest and most prestigious Black film festival. Each year, it screens more than 150 films made by and/or about people of African descent from around the world. For over 30 years, PAFF has been the international beacon for the African diaspora film and arts communities.

 

Filmmakers of ifine, Ebony Gilbert & Adisa, are proud to make their LA premiere at PAFF.  The 2023 festival is February 9-20

Help us Raise Funds & Awareness

The filmmakers of ifine are raising funds to bring the cast to America for the Los Angeles screening of ifine. Help us reach our goal of $50,000 to provide visas, room and board, travel, and accommodations for the youth who contributed to this riveting documentary.  For these youth, this trip will be their first time in America and sharing their stories will help raise awareness of the skin bleaching epidemic impacting young lives.
